Maria Maclean-Guy is one of a handful of swimmers who’ve gotten up close and personal with a great white shark while swimming in Nova Scotia waters recently. She tells Hanomansing Tonight the experience, although shocking, hasn’t deterred her from continuing to swim in open water.
This was a fun pitch, but the chase was what really challenged me. Maria’s social media was all private, and she wasn’t responding to any of her publicly available emails. I ended up replying to a comment in the Instagram comment section of another swimmer who had spotted a shark… the chase gods were truly on my side!
